Description
The Tempe Veteran's Day Parade will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 starting at 9:00am. The parade route begins at ASU Gammage and travels down Mill Avenue to Tempe Beach Park (Rio Salado Parkway).
The event is free. Bring your blanket or lawn chair to watch the parade. Military Veterans will be honored & recognized. Many community groups will march in the parade; girl scouts, boy scouts, ROTC, marching bands, young marines,bagpipe band, Police & Fire units,local businesses, baton twirllers and much, much more.
Jim Grone is the Parade Chairman and has been for 30+ years. The parade is made possible with financial and community support from Casino Arizona, Tempe Elks Lodge #2251, Southwest Airlines, VFW, American Legion and the Shriners. Tempe Elk members will have informational booths set up in the park following the parade. The booths will have information about various Elk Programs, such as; Scholarships, Drug Awareness, Americanism, Soccer & Hoop Shoots, Veteran's Programs, Membership and much more.
City officials and representatives from the Elks, VFW and American Legion will speak to the crowd in the park.
